"Ay Caramba!". "Don't have a cow man!" The Simpsons are coming to town (and we hope they're not going to stay in one of the VillaDirect homes)! Everybody's favorite dysfunctional cartoon family are the stars of a new ride based on The Simpsons at Universal Studios in both Orlando and Hollywood. Guests staying in a VillaDirect Vacation Home will be sure to make time to ride this new attraction during a day spent at Universal's "Ride the Movies" theme park. The ride is scheduled to open in Spring 2008 and will replace the (now closed) "Back to the Future" ride at Universal Orlando - becoming one of the feature attractions at this family favorite theme park. This fabulous new ride will use 80-feet tall movie screens, and motion simulation machines to give visitors an exciting and thrilling virtual reality ride through "Krusty Town".
Although the ride will be based in the old "Back to the Future" ride building, the ride simulators will be all new and newly programmed to provide a unique and thrilling ride experience according to Bill Davis, President of Universal Orlando Resort. The building itself is being totally refurbished, and the surrounding area will become "Krustyland". " - a make-believe town based on one of "The Simpsons" main and memorable characters. This will become the first major new ride to open at the Orlando park since "Revenge of the Mummy" opened in 2004.
