Light Up UCF is an affordable way for people of all ages to get the winter experience while in Florida. Some of the activities that you can expect to experience at this annual winter wonderland include snowfall, ice skating, rides, holiday attractions, and holiday movies on the lawn.
Being one of Orlando’s most anticipated holiday attractions, this year’s event boasts of “50 nights of music, lights, and ice” beginning Friday, November 13 and running until January 3, 2016 at the University of Central Florida’s Arena. Light Up UCF has something for everyone, offering free experiences such as the Holiday Light Show and Holiday Film Festival, while activities such as ice skating, rides, and pictures with Santa are priced separately.
Some of what you can expect at Light Up UCF includes:
Holiday Light Show: Made up of thousands of lights that glow and dance throughout the arena grounds in perfect synchronization to various holiday songs throughout each evening.
Falling snow: Actual snow that falls during each light show!
Holiday Film Festival: Guests can come out on the manicured lawn and watch holiday movies on select nights on a two-story movie screen under the star.
Ice Rink: Central Florida’s largest outdoor ice skating rink is located right in front of the CFE Arena, where guests can skate to holiday tunes provided by a live DJ.
Ferris Wheel: Visitors of all ages can enjoy the picturesque view of the Arena and holiday lights.
Light Up Express: Children can ride along the train near Santa’s workshop.
Arctic Glide: Slide down the 100-foot tower of ice and glide on disc sleds across the way.
Blizzard: A quick spinning thrill ride, where patrons can twist themselves crazy!
Santa’s Workshop: Presented by Coca-Cola, everyone can walk through Santa’s workshop and grab a photo with the man in red himself.
