700 Hundred Year-Old Mickey!
A 700-year-old fresco that looks remarkably like our neighbor, Mickey Mouse, has been discovered in Austria. Mickey’s “ancestor” was found in the southern town of Malta in Austria by an art historian working on the church.
Even though the figure bears an "enormouse" resemblance to the famous mouse of Walt Disney World, the art historian believes the similarity between Mickey and this 14th Century figure is pure coincidence.
The figure is portrayed kneeling in front of an image of Saint Christopher, and may actually depict a beaver or weasel. Frescoes of Saint Christopher are regularly found with animals shown surrounding his figure.
Many of the Disney vacation homes offered by VillaDirect also feature frescoes on the walls of children's bedrooms depicting Disney and other popular kid's characters - but none of them are this old!
Some art historians are claiming the discovery could mean the end of Disney's copyright on the character. Disney's Mickey Mouse character was invented in 1928, his first cartoon being Steamboat Willie. The cartoon character has since become one of the most identifiable characters in the world and the foundation of the Disney empire.

Following their stay in February 2007, Roland family from OH, USA commented:-
We had a wonderful time here in Florida. So much to do and so little time to do it in. The house is so beautiful and the pool was wonderful, we had a hard time keeping the kids out. Much better than staying in a hotel. I would rather pay a little more and have the comfort like we did than to stay in a hotel. We will have to travel back and see other sites and we will definitely stay with Villadirect again if possible.
