Otronicon at the Orlando Science Center
If you are visiting Orlando, Florida in early January and looking for something different to amuse the kids (and you!) - then take a short trip to the Orlando Science Center and see the (O)rlando Elec(tron)ic (I)nteractive Entertainment (Con)vention - OTRONICON.
The Orlando Science Center (OSC) and presenting sponsor Full Sail Real World Education are working with multiple partners to host the Otronicon digital media festival for 3 days on January 18-21, 2008. The inaugural event in 2006 attracted more than 16,000 to experience how the cultural phenomenon of video games is changing everything from art, to education, to business, to military training, with an emphasis on the role played by companies in Orlando and in Florida.
Otronicon brings together the fun, entertaining world of consumer video games with a behind-the-scenes view of the art, technology and science that form the foundation and the future of the video game and simulation industries. OSC’s four levels of exhibit halls, classroom space, theaters and program are transformed into a forum for these technologies, including the ultimate video game experience – videogame tournaments played on the 8-story giant screen of the Dr. Phillips CineDome.

The OSC charges $14.95 for adults, and $9.95 for kids (under 12) to enter Otronicon 2008.
