Super Bowl – I’m Going to DisneyWorld

When Dick Rutan and Jeana Yaeger were asked what they would do after becoming the first people to fly around the world non-stop, Rutan answered with a joke, “I’m going to Disneyland.” Jane Eisner, wife of then Disney CEO Michael Eisner, realized this was a great slogan. So, minutes after winning the Super Bowl in 1987, New York Giants’ winning quarterback Phil Simms answered this question on camera — “You’ve won the Super Bowl. What are you going to do next?” The MVP of the biggest sporting event of the year answered, “I’m gonna go to Disney World.” Since that first airing, the announcement has been mouthed by many of the greatest winning football players of the last 30 years. The Orlando home of Disney has often held parades to celebrate the MVP or other star player within a short time after winning the championship.

Wouldn’t you love to be part of the celebration? I know I would.

Imagine This

Imagine having the experience of seeing one of your favorite players coming down Main Street in the company of Mickey Mouse, and you’re one of thousands of cheering fans. You and your family can do this. Another really unique time to visit Disney World is during the Super Bowl itself. A great way to enjoy the game and also have that vacation you’ve been dreaming of.

That Sunday gets special treatment at Disney World. You can make a full day enjoying all the wonderment offered and then make a special evening by viewing the big game. A great idea is to explore Epcot Center and the many rides, exhibits, and special features offered throughout the area. There are several great places offering game-watching experiences you’ll never forget. The ESPN Club, located on the Boardwalk in Epcot Center, provides a complete viewing package.
