Celebrate July 4th in Orlando this Year
There is no better place to celebrate the 4th of July than in America’s theme park mecca, Orlando. With endless amounts of sunshine, a dizzying array of fun attractions, waterparks perfect for cooling off in the summer heat, and a host of diverse dining and shopping opportunities, Orlando makes the ideal Independence Day destination. The city and its theme parks pull out all of the stops with a variety of special events centered around this festive holiday. Here are just a few things going on July 4th in Orlando:
There is no place that represents the idealism and fantasy of America better than the Magic Kingdom, making it the perfect destination to celebrate the day. “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” is presented on both July 4 and July 5, setting the skies above Cinderella’s Castle ablaze in color. Kick off the night with two DJ parties hosted in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland prior to the fireworks show at 9:15 pm.
Known for its nightly “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” show, Epcot takes this presentation to another level on July 4th in Orlando with the addition of a fireworks grand finale to mark the holiday. The Illuminations show begins at 9 pm over the World Showcase Lagoon. Prior to the nighttime spectacular, guests can enjoy special performances of the Voices of Liberty, performing at the America Gardens Theatre at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8 pm.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
With the much-anticipated Galaxy’s Edge Star Wars land to open in just a few months at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it is no surprise that this park is harnessing the force for its 4th of July celebration. The park will present the “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” at 9:30 pm, featuring an amazing display of fireworks, lasers, and more.
Not to be left out of the booming fun, Universal Studios is also hosting its first ever 4th of July fireworks. The skies over this movie-themed park will light up from various locations overhead on July 4th, 5th, and 6th. The dazzling fireworks will be set to a mix of Universal-themed music and patriotic classics, giving the show a Hollywood spin. The show begins at 9:00 pm and is included with regular theme park admission.
